There are two types of people in the world. People who love cats, or people who adore dogs. Being an extrovert or an introvert has often become the main determiner of whether or not you prefer cats or dogs. A study conducted by Dr. Sam Gosling, a psychologist at the University of Texas found that people who are dog owners were more extroverted than cat owners by 15%!

High energy VS Low energy

Dog lovers tend to have higher levels of energy, and they prefer activities that require a lot of power, stamina, and strength! Whether that would be hiking, climbing, or swimming. These activities are also loved by our canine friends. On the other hand, cat lovers tend to like activities that require less physical energy, such as reading, listening to music, or even baking!

Rule-following VS Non-conformists

This might come as a surprise to a lot of us, since dog lovers tend to have a lot of playful energy but in reality, dog lovers are rule followers and they live their life according to a plan. Compared to cat lovers who tend to be more hedonistic, flexible, and love freedom! 

Structured VS Open

Similar to the previous point, dog lovers love following a rule and routine, compared to cat lovers who tend to question the rules, authority, and even think outside of the box more often.  Although personality types among people who prefer cats or dogs might seem like they’re from different planets, in reality, we all have our own preferences. Every person has aspects within themselves that might apply more to a dog-lovers stereotype and vice versa. There are even people out there who don’t prefer any of these pets! But after all, combining all of these elements is exactly what makes us unique individuals. Making us hoomans have such a variety in personality, just like our fellow paw-friends we’re living with in this big big world!
